Double Layer Column For Nucleic Acid Extraction
Double layer column is based on next generation of nucleic acid extraction technology. Unlike the conventional silica technology, it introduces a new principle in which two distinct membranes are serially coupled within a column: the first DEAE anion exchange membrane and the second silica membrane.
The double-layer structure provides a unique procedure: 1) nucleic acid is bound to the first DEAE membrane, playing the role of concentrator, 2) The bond nucleic acid is eluted from the first membrane and then bound to the second silica membrane by a dual function, coupling solution, and 3) the nucleic acid is eluted from the second membrane.
Therefore, it is particularly suitable for isolating much diluted nucleic acid in large volumes, e.g., 40ml of plasma and 200ml of urine.
In addition, the eluted nucleic acid is ready for downstream application.
